About

Beth Allums is a mixed media artist, mother, and art teacher who loves to create, teach and discover new things. She has a passion for painting, printmaking, crafts, mixed media and the fine arts.  Combining paint, drawing, textiles and paper, Beth creates prints, paintings and art journals that employ her love for both pattern and color. Through the discovery of art journals and the lens of mixed media, Beth is developing a distinctive vocabulary of layered patterns ,colors and images through her compositions.

Beth holds a VA teaching license in Art Education and a BFA in Painting and Printmaking from Virginia Commonwealth University  with multiple credits in Illustration and Art Education. Her passion for crafting lead her to sewing, and design in 2004 when she developed a line of clothing for little ones under the name The Monkey and Me. Beth spent many years touring the indie craft show circuit and is also a founding member of the Richmond Craft Mafia. She  gradually retired the line over the years and is finding food for her creative spirit in rediscovering her artistic self.

Beth is happiest at her kitchen corner studio where she can be with her family and create. Her work can be found in her Etsy shop, on Society 6, and on her Facebook page. She lives in Richmond VA with her hilarious preteen son, handsome significant other Stephen, and one chubby Puggle, Arthur.
